We stay busy throughout the year, ebbing and flowing with the glorious ritual seasons of New Orleans. Halloween and Carnival are our two busiest times of year. In the fall, we parade with Krewe of Boo & Krewe de Mayahuel, and we also host our annual Variety Show & Fundraiser. When the temps drop and our bonez are chilled, we host our annual December “Scaroling” event — you’ll also find us in Krampus. During Carnival, our bonez are on the streets alongside Joan of Arc, MUSES, Krewe Boheme, and Box of Wine. On Mardi Gras, our day begins at 4am. We typically break for a bit after BUNARCHY, then jump back in for Blaine Kern’s “Halfway to Halloween” Dance Off, PRIDE and Decadence.
ANNUAL EVENTS:
In the past we have also participated in the following annual events and parades: Merci of the Magic Carriage Parade, Calacas Y Maracas (our own), Krewe of Okeanos, krewedelusion, Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale, Krewe of Thoth, Krewe of Dreux, ARVLFC Anne Rice Ball, YeMaYa, 6t’9 Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Anba Dlo at the Healing Center, and much more.
FRIENDS & COLLABORATIONS:
There are several krewes and orgs throughout the city that we consider to be good friends of SnB. We often collaborate with other walking krewes and Cultural organizations. We are ALWAYS interested in collaborations with other women’s krewes, and always happy to assist with fundraisers whenever possible!
One of our favorite things:
- In 2016, representatives from our krewe (15 of us) went to Washington D.C. to participate in the Women’s March on Washington. As far as we know, we were the ONLY women’s krewe that went to the march from New Orleans. Sidenote: It was incredible. We still talk about it.
